First off, I’m coming back. I’ve heard so many good things from colleagues that my first visit was destined to be the age old example of No-Way-It-Could-Match-What-I-Heard. Those same colleagues slid us up there on lunch break. The cashier was engaging and really funny. She cracked jokes with every single customer, all one hundred of us! My coworkers pounded their chests about the shrimp and gumbo but I came for catfish.

I left with the “meh” feeling. It wasn’t bad, just not impressive. I’m thinking my expectations were too high. The catfish was too bland for my taste and the cheese grits were just plain not good. The hushpuppies were the best thing about my lunch platter, dark brown, warm yellow inside, not gushy. The beer was super cold and bathrooms very clean (Yes, I’m handicapped and that matters!).
