Gratitude Journal Day 70: Tuesday, 12/8/2020

Why keep a Gratitude Journal at all? (This is the saaaaaame intro for every Gratitude Journal entry. It’s here for the newbies to the journey.)

I try to start everyday with a Grateful heart. *duck face* Potna, I ain’t lying. You can check my IG accounts Queen/King. I get a lil raunchy on the Multiple_Sclerosis_Outlaw but I’m calmer, gentle with allthingsonelove. On both, I start my day sharing Gratitudes, stories of Gratitude and anything related to being Grateful. I’m dead ass serious about my Gratitudes because it keeps me present and accountable for my own energy. I recognize and appreciate the actions, words and energy of others intending me good. By starting my day with Gratitude, I have less MS pain, MS symptoms and MS depression because I’m actively pushing my thoughts towards a positive direction of Gratitude. My relationships with others are stronger because my Grateful ass notices what others do for me, to me, WITH me. *bows* I could go on and on and on and on about the benefits of being purposefully grateful buuuuuut… *whispers* Pssst, you know I wrote about it…

Why I chose THIS to start my day…

WOW. This story rocked me pretty hard last week. Out of the blue, a former student hit me up on FB. She explained that I was FAVORITE teacher (back in 2014-15), pushed her to believe she was college material (1st in her family type stuff!) but in high school she was deported for being an illegal immigrant. It’s been 5+ years and despite the fact she STILL made it to college in her native country, she wasn’t feeling it at all. She felt lost and wished we could talk.

Huh? WISH?! 2020? #LetsGo πŸ“²

That call was over 1.5hrs. This week, she sent some artwork of hers. A hand drawn, cartoon of ME in my Da G.O.A.T persona. *wipes tear* I LOVE it, authentic, accurate and very much Avant.

3.) Start a NEW work-from-home gig today! πŸ’» *shoulder shake dance* #GratefulAF!!! Look homie, I bust my HUMP in that telesales position for Medicare/Medicaid but cha BOI ain’t no natural salesman. I’m good as heck at communicating, making connections, fitting in, freaking TALKING in YOUR comfort zone (NOT language, that’s waaaay different.). Well, after 3 months, I wasn’t retained in telesales BUT the manager pulled me aside, “Dude. You’re a good worker, knowledgeable and I’m thinking Customer Service is your speed. They have permanent positions but less pay. You cool with that?” πŸ‘¨πŸΎβ€πŸŽ€ I damn near sang THANKS for the affirmation and opportunity!

2.) Passed my TEFL certifications. πŸ‘¨πŸΏβ€πŸ«πŸ‘¨πŸΏβ€πŸ« *brushing WHATEVER off the shoulders* Queen, I didn’t just pass, I scored OUTSTANDING across the entire 10 area exam, cultural, age, knowledge of language, adaptability, lesson plans, activities, EVERYTHING. I even received a letter that was so awesome that I’m going to use it as a letter of reference. What is TEFL? My bad. πŸ˜‰ Teaching English as Foreign Language (TEFL). With this certification, I can apply for teaching gigs OUTSIDE the US, Belize, Mexico, Ecuador, Columbia are ALL in the mix but Belize is my favorite. Grateful for another step taken!

1.) Sweet Potato Banana Bread!🍞🍞🍞 DAWG. πŸ˜‘ The banana bread was so soft, spongy, nutty… Mmm mmm MPH! *licks lips* I called myself SNEAKING it, tried to hide that I was eating it because I’m #nosugar #nogluten lifestyle. My wife waited till I finished, thought I wasn’t seen and told me, “Boy. It’s made with that special, sweet potato bread. It ain’t got sugar or gluten! πŸ™„πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£ I went ahead and ate MORE then.
