Gratitude Journal Day 79: Friday, 12/18/2020

Why keep a Gratitude Journal at all? (This is the saaaaaame intro for every Gratitude Journal entry. It’s here for the newbies to the journey.)

I try to start everyday with a Grateful heart. *duck face* Potna, I ain’t lying. You can check my IG accounts Queen/King. I get a lil raunchy on the Multiple_Sclerosis_Outlaw but I’m calmer, gentle with allthingsonelove. On both, I start my day sharing Gratitudes, stories of Gratitude and anything related to being Grateful. I’m dead ass serious about my Gratitudes because it keeps me present and accountable for my own energy. I recognize and appreciate the actions, words and energy of others intending me good. By starting my day with Gratitude, I have less MS pain, MS symptoms and MS depression because I’m actively pushing my thoughts towards a positive direction of Gratitude. My relationships with others are stronger because my Grateful ass notices what others do for me, to me, WITH me. *bows* I could go on and on and on and on about the benefits of being purposefully grateful buuuuuut… *whispers* Pssst, you know I wrote about it…

Why I chose THIS to start my day…

Today is TOUGH bro. I got kinds of symptoms lurking on the edge of my consciousness. The power of Gratitude is that it changes my perspective, I don’t focus on the bad, I roll the GOOD. SOME days, like today, it’s ugly trying to balance pain and perspective. I am reminded today, wellness is a journey, ups, downs, wrong turns, shortcuts, potholes, weather, it all impacts how I’m feeling, makes it harder to see the GOOD. +

I’m going to see the GOOD tho. It’s my way out of the painful darkness. If I leave myself contemplating the recent, onslaught of Multiple Sclerosis…. I’ll stumble into MORE Multiple Sclerosis and I don’t want more so lemme jump into Gratitudes.

3.) I got tomorrow OFF! πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½ First Saturday in almost a MONTH. Friday hits different when you don’t have to get up early on Saturday. Friday is when things POP off around here and I wanna POP off too. *cheers*

2.) Homie cut my son’s hair πŸ€œπŸΎπŸ€›πŸΎ WHEW! Daaaaaawg, that boy of mine needed a barber’s blessing because holidays are here and regardless of pandemic, we WILL be in pictures, Zooms and anything else memorable. (I did NOT want that responsibility. “KEN, why didn’t you get his hair cut? You KNEW we had pictures coming for the grandparents and stuff. What am I supposed to do with that thing on his head?!”

1.) Foot neurosis, Spondylosis, are whooping my black ass. πŸ‘‘βœŠπŸΎπŸ’ͺ🏾 It’s been building up all week and I KNOW the daily glasses of vodka aren’t helping. They feel GREAT and taste better but they aren’t helping the management of my illness. Nor is the blitz of sugar that I’ve succumbed to; eating EVERYTHING sweet my daughters cook. Nor is the substituting wheelchair yoga for full sets of yoga. πŸ˜‘ *rolls up sleeves* I’m grateful I have electric massagers, Epsom salt and since I’m training-from-home, I’ve already looked up yoga poses to address the back & neck pain. When I need a BIG “gun”, I’m swinging my anti-inflammatory pills #WishMeLuck but know this, I’m grateful AF I have routines and different ways to addressing each problem.
