Allow me to start with the DEEPEST appreciation for your support. I’ve changed since stomping in frustration over my diagnosis. I’m better. Your readings, comments, likes, off-line messages were everything to me as I learned how to manage my new life. I have eternal Gratitude for your energy and interest. *bows*
*looking worried* Look, I don’t know what kind of pressure cheaters go through when they confess. I have NO earthly idea of the courage it takes to step from any closet. Matter fact, I’m pretty darn good at keeping secrets but this had to come out. I started this blog, allthingsonelove, as therapy to deal with Multiple Sclerosis in 2017. From there, I’ve slowly, painfully learned to accept my illness as a tool of authenticity. My disabilities, handicaps, illness, limitations all grant me the ultimate confidence to be ME. I’m no longer fighting the circumstances, situations and decisions that led me to wellness. I’ve lost interest in telling my personal story as an extraordinary tale of survival. Instead, my life is open book of transformation and growth best left to the reader’s interpretation. I have not solved Multiple Sclerosis yet I firmly believe… No, I advocate that Gratitude Changes Perspective. THIS is my gift to exemplify. My purpose is helping others. My passion is storytelling. My gift is the supernatural ability to look over bullshit, find things to be grateful for and explain WHY each affects me. That power, that ability, means I’m not OVER-thinking past conversations. That time spent writing or recording what I’m grateful for and WHY I’m grateful is time AWAY from negative thoughts. As the Multiple Sclerosis Outlaw, I championed using any means necessary to FEEL better. As the Agent of Gratitude, I exemplify how Gratitude Changes Perspective. As the Agent of Gratitude, I exemplify how to BE better.
#4 – I’ve grown
When I started this journey of wellness, I took the moniker Multiple Sclerosis Outlaw because I felt the need to defend my decision to quit healthcare. I wanted to represent everyone else dealing with chronic illness, struggling with chronic pain, juggling vices, addictions, relationships but still going, getting up, pouring up, blazing up. *beats chest* I dove into conversations and initiated conflict over patients’ rights, legalization of cannabis, assisted suicide.
The Agent of Gratitude is much calmer. I avoid certain topics & people because the energy may trigger a negative response. I drink less, smoke more. I defend patients’ rights, cannabis, etc. but I no longer debate them. This sublime sense of calmness is the priority of my existence.
#3 – My published works
I have books on using Gratitude to manage the mental health issues associated with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis. My ebook, If you can’t GET better, BE better: Survivor’s Blueprint for Multiple Sclerosis, details the nine steps I took to grapple my sanity and will to live from depression and negative thoughts. This makes an Agent of Gratitude by itself! The fact I’ve published THREE works of Gratitude alone qualifies the title! 🤜🏾🤛🏾😉
#2 – My experience –
When the pandemic started and schools closed, I knew immediately what I would name our “remote school”. Daddy’s Academy of Gratitude launched and I had dem kids doing Gratitude Journals as an exit ticket of the day. The whole experience brought us closer together and we shared our Gratitudes with each other. It was awesome and helped gloss over the raging pandemic just outside our doors. That experience solidified my dogged proclamations that Gratitude Changes Perspective. To build on the energy, I “doubled down” on Gratitude, started a FB public profile, FB Group, set a September deadline for my 4th book and practice giving my Gratitude business pitch everyday on Clubhouse. That wasn’t enough so I launched a new podcast, Disabled BUT… that gives me the opportunity to interview people, like me, THRIVING beyond the illness. I couldn’t do an individual podcast as the Multiple Sclerosis Outlaw because I worked with a team. *bows*
#1 – I don’t motivate people to do better. I inspire Tribespeople to BE better.
