Gratitude Journal Day 52: How the lifestyle changes are affecting me

5 reasons the #nosugar #nogluten #noliquor lifestyle is helping my multiple sclerosis

Why keep a Gratitude Journal at all? (This is the saaaaaame intro for every Gratitude Journal entry. It’s here for the newbies to the journey.)

I try to start everyday with a Grateful heart. *duck face* Potna, I ain’t lying. You can check my IG accounts Queen/King. I get a lil raunchy on the Multiple_Sclerosis_Outlaw but I’m calmer, gentle with allthingsonelove. On both, I start my day sharing Gratitudes, stories of Gratitude and anything related to being Grateful. I’m dead ass serious about my Gratitudes because it keeps me present and accountable for my own energy. I recognize and appreciate the actions, words and energy of others intending me good. By starting my day with Gratitude, I have less MS pain, MS symptoms and MS depression because I’m actively pushing my thoughts towards a positive direction of Gratitude. My relationships with others are stronger because my Grateful ass notices what others do for me, to me, WITH me. *bows* I could go on and on and on and on about the benefits of being purposefully grateful buuuuuut… *whispers* Pssst, you know I wrote about it…

Why I chose THIS to start my day…

On Nov. 8th, bout 2 weeks ago, I made a lifestyle change. There’s way too many articles linking sugar, gluten, alcohol to the progression of Multiple Sclerosis so I dropped ALL 3. *Scarface voice* “Just like DAAT. I stopped the bad.” I say ‘just like that’ but it’s easy when somebody agrees to meal prep and cook for you. *waves at his Queen*  After 2 weeks, I figured it was time to update my Tribe & the world (I don’t have that many followers. 😉).

5.) The VARIETY of foods, flavors, spices, oils, HERBS… *BOWS* 👸🏽 Let’s start right chea. *taps mic* 🎙 Is this thing on? *Juicy Fruit, screwed and chopped, music plays in background* Okay good. The Queen of THIS hea Kingdom has been laying absolutely, AMAZING meals and I don’t even know what it is before I eat! I PROMISE I’m not trying to confuse y’all but I don’t. The meals LOOK like a paid dish, fancy, NEW plates and bowls. Everything barely steaming so you SEE the vapors of the food drifting toward your very SOUL. 😍😙 I don’t miss a damn thing about my former meals and snacks. My chips are now bowls of warm, seasoned nuts. Daaaaaawg. It’s like eating healthy, spicy, sweet chex mix or something! I have liiiiike, 🤔 I’d describe them as “snippets of chia seeds and other stuff”. Oh, it’s crunchy and hits another snack itch, breakfast quickie. In the mornings, I’m on alkaline water and chia seeds to flush my system and jumpstart the plumbing. 😑 I’ll leave it there because I know how folks get. 😉 I have DIFFERENT salads and the dressings are homemade concoctions of oils, vinegar, FRESH squeezed lemon juice. I’ve NEVER eaten like this. Every night, my heart racing when she asks, “Ready for dinner? It’s some more NEW stuff so I’m scared if you’ll like it.

4.) Face clearing up! 😮 🤓 King. *lights up the funny, green, herbal joint* Kiiiiing. Bro. DAWG. I wish you could see my face homie. Like, I can miss a day shaving without razor bumps, hair bumps, fearing a doggone break out. People telling me that I’m looking good, smiling and I sincerely appreciate the compliments but you know it’s serious when… *offers YOU, the reader, a hit* those areas that ALWAYS gave you problems, are looking better to YOU. Example, I have the left side of my mouth, where the goatee never grows right, keep tweezers for the hair bumps and so forth. After about 10 days, I noticed it was smooth like the other side. I feel my skin glowing a lil. *makes the finger motion* 😉 When I lotion up, it actually LASTS. 😂🤣

3.) Less RR issues 🚽🚽🚽 When I need to pee, it usually comes out now. I USED to go to the RR 3x/hour. Of those 3 trips, 1 was a success.  Now, I’m going 1x/hour and it WORKS. My BMs (that means bowel movements or potty or boo boo 🤷🏾‍♂️) were 2x/week. I’d GO several times, every day for BMs, take phone, potty stool and chill with it  but NOTHING on a regular basis. Guess what? For 5 consecutive days, I’ve had a BM! 🤜🏾🤛🏾🙌🏾🙏🏾👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I gotta say it. “Getting that shit out your system works WONDERS for the soul and heart!” And, AND, I know it can get better. I can feel my stomach churning, shifting gears, hustling throughout the day and I appreciate its effort.

2.) Sleep better 😫😪😴😪 Am I sleeping longer? 🤣🤣 NO. I’m sleeping better. Nope, not sleeping more either, just better. When I wake up from my regularly, interrupted sleep with RR issues, spasms, choking or *eek* MS Hug, I feel RESTED. I’m not so groggy, doesn’t take AS long to get OUT da bed. When I nap, I actually nap and get up instead of laying there till bedtime.

1.) Energy levels 🖤💜💛💚💞 Dude, my energy levels are through the roof. I feel smarter too, sexy even. *mimes shaking hair* Ever seen the episode of Seinfeld where George goes without sex and turns into a genius? Elaine went without sex and turned into… Well, George the original? THAT’S how I’m feeling! Like George without sex! Thoughts are clearer, faster, concise and tight. My fingers, typing, have consecutive days where I’m flying, on the keyboard, so fast that I’m shocked! When I play video games, I don’t need a “break” NEAR as much as I used. At night, I’m awake an additional hour or so and on weekends, my kids complain I don’t sleep, they can hear me ruffling, typing, arranging furniture. 🙄 I’m a blogger and writer so it makes perfect sense to me. *shakes head* The point is, I have energy to do stuff, I do stuff.
